Our first task – and by no means the least important – was maintaining this magnificent park. Mowing, pruning, clearing undergrowth, planting, repairing… We got to know every nook and cranny, every tree, every path. And as we went about our work, the park revealed its richness and diversity to us.
For we are not alone here! The park is home to wildlife that is as unobtrusive as it is fascinating. Around the bend of a path, a newt calmly crosses the way. At dawn or dusk, roe deer wander close to the campsites, a hare scurries through the tall grass, and a fox skips along the edge of the woodland. As for the wild boars, they regularly remind us that we are just as much at home here as they are. Not to mention all the other creatures, large and small, that bring this natural haven to life. For nature lovers, it’s a real daily spectacle.
A year is also a time for meeting people.
We set out to discover the men and women who make this region such a precious destination for tourism and heritage: producers, craftspeople, restaurateurs, guides, caretakers of remarkable sites, and community volunteers… They all share the same passion for their land and the same desire to help others discover it.
These conversations have given us a wealth of ideas for places to visit, tours and experiences that we can’t wait to share with you. With its golden stone, unspoilt valleys, hilltop villages and local specialities, the Lot never ceases to surprise us.
First autumn, first winter: we were lucky enough to discover the park in a whole new light. The breathtaking sunsets over the trees, whilst the colours of autumn, followed by the soft glow of winter, transform every walk into a painting.
Le Rêve never looks quite the same from one season to the next, and that is precisely what gives it its charm.
And then, you arrived!
At last, what we’d been eagerly awaiting: our first visitors. The campsite’s regulars gave us a warm welcome, with a kindness that immediately put us at ease for this first season. As for the newcomers, they were charmed by the peaceful and friendly atmosphere of the place, and were kind enough to tell us so. Everyone played their part in bringing this season to life. Your smiles and your feedback have inspired and reassured us in our choice.
This first year has taught us that Camping Le Rêve is much more than just a campsite: it’s a place for living, for nature and for making connections. We’d like to extend our warmest thanks to everyone who has crossed our path, whether closely or from afar.
And this is just the beginning! New seasons, new projects and, we hope, new faces await you.
