Local products

The 04 July 2022
Local products - Safran

Short supply chain

Local commerce is a real asset for our small villages and their population. In addition to promoting local products, it strengthens the proximity with customers and villagers and also animates the neighbourhoods. And that’s not all: you encourage the local economy and small producers, and you even help to reduce your ecological footprint through these short circuits. Because yes, by promoting direct producer-consumer sales, all the various forms of transport are greatly reduced.

Local products at the campsite shop

Because holidays are also about food, we invite you to discover our rare local gems in the campsite grocery shop. To guarantee you a total experience in the heart of the region, we offer you our selection of local products.

Ferme de Peyrès

Our duck products come directly from the Peyrès farm. Monique and Yves have taken a relative retirement as they continue to share their recipes and know-how.

Safranière La Borie Blanche

Established in the Lot since 2013, the Safranière La Borie blanche produces organic saffron of category 1 quality. They supply us with saffron products such as their delicious saffron white fig jam.

ROCAMADOUR CHEESE

The Lahore cheese dairy provides us with delicious Rocamadour goat’s cheese, an unmissable speciality of the region.
Open to the public, you can watch the milking every evening at 6pm (except Sundays).

HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTS

The Bennet farm supplies us with walnuts and their derivatives. Its production is certified organic. Just like the honeys produced by La Douce Abeille in Gourdon. Lies and Olivier also make walnut and hazelnut pastes that you absolutely must try… I warn you though, one becomes addicted very quickly!

Les Tartinades du Quercy make vegetable preparations ideal for the aperitif. Harvested in accordance with the seasons, the vegetables are produced in a family circle and processed a few kilometres away.

NEW in 2022: Trout terrines

The Gouffre de Blagour is surrounded by springs and is connected to an underground tributary. Anne and Hans have an artisanal trout farm there (rainbow trout, fario trout, fountain salmon). We suggest you discover their products in our grocery shop.

The Gouffre du Blagour also offers possibilities for fishermen: fast fishing by weight, trout fishing in the Gouffre or in the Blagour stream, a 1st category stream.

LOCAL BEVERAGE

These good products can be discovered as an aperitif with a tasty Ratafia from Château La Gineste or accompanied by an organic craft beer from Les Acolytes, a small brewery that is starting to become well known.

The farmers' market

FAIRE UN TOUR DU CIRCUIT-COURT !

If you wish to discover more about these producers, you can find them at the Vigan producers’ market every Tuesday evening (5pm-9pm) from 5/07 to 30/08 on the Place de l’Eglise in Vigan.

This meeting place for a dozen producers from the surrounding area is located near the campsite.

You have the possibility to compose your plate with the products of the market and to taste them on the spot!

YOUR REVIEWS ON THE FARMERS’ MARKET

“A beautiful story was born in this commune, the meeting of producers and the local population as well as tourists. An unmissable moment of sharing every Tuesday evening in July and August”.

“Good market, you can find all the good products of the area. Musical atmosphere guaranteed. I recommend it. The village shopkeepers are open too.”
